Chop the 500g of beef brisket into large chunks.

Sear the beef brisket on all sides in a pan with 3 tablespoons of oil.

Once seared, remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Chop the daikon, carrots, and onion. Finely chop the garlic cloves and ginger.

In the same pan, add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.

Add the curry powder, flour, salt, and sugar to the pan. Mix well.
Add the seared beef back into the pan.

Add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and dark soy sauce. Mix everything together.

Pour in the beef broth and coconut milk. Stir well.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, add the chopped daikon and carrots to the pot.

Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.

While the curry is simmering, peel and chop the potatoes into chunks.

After the 30 minutes, add the potatoes to the pot.

Continue to simmer for a final 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

Serve the Hong Kong Beef Curry with Daikon and enjoy.
