Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add 1 pound of ground beef to the pot. Break up the beef with a spoon and brown it completely.

Once the ground beef is browned, drain any excess grease from the pot.

Add 1/2 cup of chopped yellow onion and 1/2 cup of chopped green bell pepper to the pot with the beef. Cook the vegetables until they are softened.

Stir in 2 tablespoons of minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant.

Pour in 1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can of tomato sauce, and 1 (14.5 ounce) can of undrained diced tomatoes.

Add 4 cups of beef broth and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the pot.

Season the mixture with 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (if using), and salt and black pepper to taste.

Bring the entire mixture to a boil.

Add 1 pound of spaghetti, broken in half, to the pot. Stir well to ensure that all the pasta is submerged in the liquid.

Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and let it simmer. Stir occasionally during this time to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Continue cooking until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Remove the pot from the heat.

Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (if using) until it is completely melted and the sauce becomes creamy.

Garnish with fresh parsley (if desired) and serve hot.
