Cut the nori sheets into small strips or pieces. Place them in a small bowl, add 1/4 cup of water, and set aside to soften.

Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced red onion and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and continue to stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.

Add the fermented black beans (tausi) to the pan with the onion and garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Remove the pan from the heat. Add the softened nori sheets (including any remaining water from the bowl) to the pan. Stir well until the nori melts into the mixture and softens completely.

Carefully transfer the mixture from the pan into a blender cup or a heat-safe container if using an immersion blender. Blend until the mixture is well combined and the black beans and nori are further crushed to your desired consistency. Add a splash more water if needed to achieve a smoother consistency.
