Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease if necessary.

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted and cooled unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir with a whisk or spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.

Pour about 1/2 cup of batter (or the amount recommended by your waffle iron manufacturer) onto the hot waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown and crispy.

Carefully remove the cooked waffle and place it on a wire rack to keep it from getting soggy. Repeat with the remaining batter.

While the waffles are cooking, prepare the cookies and cream glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add more milk 1 teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Stir the finely crushed Oreo cookies into the glaze.
Serve the warm waffles immediately, drizzled generously with the cookies and cream glaze. Garnish with coarsely chopped Oreo cookies, if desired.
