Place the steak in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder. Mix well to ensure the steak is fully coated with the marinade.

Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes. While the steak is marinating, prepare the dressing and salad components.

In a jar or small bowl, combine 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar, 2 minced cloves of garlic, the juice of 1/2 lemon, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Close the jar and shake vigorously, or whisk in a bowl, until all ingredients are well combined.

Thinly slice 1/2 of a red onion. Cut 1 block of feta cheese into bite-sized cubes. Halve 1 pint of cherry tomatoes. Chop 1/2 cup of cucumber. Have 1 bag of spring mix (or your preferred mixed greens) ready. If using, prepare croutons.

Heat a pan (a cast iron skillet works well) over medium-high heat.

Once the pan is hot, add the marinated steak. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side for a medium-rare doneness, or adjust cooking time to your desired level of doneness.

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

In a large mixing bowl, add the spring mix. Distribute the sliced red onion, cubed feta cheese, halved cherry tomatoes, and chopped cucumber over the greens. Pour the prepared dressing over the salad ingredients. Gently toss the salad to ensure everything is evenly coated with the dressing.

Top the assembled salad with the sliced steak and optional croutons. Serve immediately.
