In a large bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.

Add the granulated sugar, large egg, melted unsalted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Once risen, gently punch down the dough to release the air.

Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.

Cut the dough into 24 squares. A common method is to cut it into 6 rows by 4 columns.

Arrange the squares in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, leaving a small space between each roll.

Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let the rolls rise again in a warm place for 30 to 45 minutes, or until they appear puffy.

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Bake the rolls for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

While the rolls are baking, prepare the cinnamon butter. In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and ground cinnamon.

Beat the cinnamon butter mixture with an electric mixer until it is light and fluffy.

Once the rolls are baked, immediately brush them with additional melted butter.

Serve the warm rolls with the homemade cinnamon butter.
