Preheat your oven to 356°F (180°C). Grease and flour a round baking pan, ensuring it's evenly coated.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the 3 large eggs and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is consistent and smooth.

Add 1 cup of orange juice and 1/2 cup of vegetable oil to the egg and sugar mixture. Continue mixing until well combined.

Gradually add the 2 cups of all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously until a smooth batter forms and no lumps remain.

Finally, add 1 tablespoon of baking powder to the batter. Mix gently for a short period, just until all ingredients are perfectly combined and the batter has a light, airy consistency.

Pour the entire cake batter into the prepared round baking pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom to ensure uniform baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the orange syrup. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of orange juice. Stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens to a syrup consistency.

Remove the syrup from the heat and allow it to cool completely. This will take approximately 15 minutes.

Once the cake is out of the oven, immediately use a toothpick to poke small holes all over its surface. This will allow the syrup to penetrate deeply.

Evenly pour the cooled orange syrup over the warm cake, ensuring it covers the entire surface and seeps into all the holes.

Allow the cake to cool slightly in the pan for a few minutes before carefully unmolding it. Slice and serve.
