Roughly chop the head of cabbage into bite-sized pieces.

In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the stick of butter over medium heat.

Add the sliced onion and sliced bell pepper to the pot with the melted butter. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.

Add the chopped cabbage to the pot. Stir well to combine the cabbage with the sautéed vegetables and seasonings.

Pour in the chicken broth, then add the sugar and red pepper flakes. Stir everything together.

Cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let the cabbage cook for 20 minutes, or until very tender and 'melted'.
