Prepare the fresh ingredients: Mince the 2 cloves of garlic. Chop the 2 tablespoons of scallion. Chop the 2 tablespoons of cilantro.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the 1/4 cup of fish sauce, the 3 tablespoons of lime juice (if you only have 2 limes, use the juice from those and substitute the remaining 1 tablespoon of lime juice with 1 tablespoon of vinegar), and the 1 1/2 tablespoons of water.

Add the 2 1/2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and the 1 tablespoon of chili flakes to the bowl.

Stir in the 1 tablespoon of toasted rice powder. (To make toasted rice powder, toast uncooked rice in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown, then grind it into a fine powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.)

Add the minced garlic, chopped scallion, and chopped cilantro to the bowl.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined and the sugar has dissolved.

Taste the 'Crack Sauce' and adjust the seasoning to your preference. You may add more sugar for sweetness, more lime juice for tang, or more chili flakes for heat.
