In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine the chopped cooked turkey (or chicken), diced carrots, diced celery, and diced onion.

Sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Add the packet of gravy mix. Pour in 6 cups of chicken stock.

Stir all ingredients together until well combined. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Approximately one hour before the total cook time is complete, stir in the wild rice from the Rice-A-Roni box (discard or save the seasoning packet for another use). Replace the cover and allow the rice to cook through.

Just before serving, stir in the heavy cream to achieve a creamy consistency. Start with 1/2 cup and add more if desired.

Taste the soup and adjust salt and pepper as needed for your preference.
