Season the sirloin steak generously on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the seasoned sirloin steak for 2-3 minutes per side for a medium-rare doneness, or adjust cooking time to your preferred level of doneness.

Remove the cooked steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. Once rested, slice the steak against the grain into desired thickness.

While the steak rests, in a separate pot, bring a generous amount of salted water to a rolling boil for the pasta.

Using the same pan used for the steak (do not clean it, as the browned bits add flavor), add 1 tablespoon of butter and melt it over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic and sauté for approximately 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant.

Pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan with a spatula to deglaze and incorporate all the flavorful browned bits.

Stir in 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and has thickened to your liking.

Add 1/2 pound of fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to the package directions until it is al dente. Drain the cooked pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water.

Add the drained fettuccine directly into the pan with the Alfredo sauce. Toss the pasta thoroughly to ensure it is evenly coated with the creamy sauce. If the sauce appears too thick, add a splash or two of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is achieved.

Serve the fettuccine Alfredo immediately, topping each portion with slices of the seared sirloin steak. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
