Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
Rub chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Grill for 6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
Spread pesto sauce on the cut sides of each ciabatta bread.
Layer sliced chicken, mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and basil leaves on the bottom halves of the bread. Top with the other halves.
