Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides to easily lift the brownies out later.

Peel and core the pear. Once cored, chop the pear into smaller, manageable pieces.

Add the chopped pear to a food processor. Blend the pear until it forms a smooth puree, scraping down the sides as needed.

Add the 1/2 cup of cocoa powder and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the food processor with the smooth pear puree.

Blend all ingredients again until a smooth, uniform batter is formed. Ensure there are no large lumps of pear or unmixed cocoa powder.

Transfer the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking dish, spreading it with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter.

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the baking dish on a wire rack before attempting to cut and serve. This will take at least 30 minutes to ensure they set properly.
