Season both sides of the 2 salmon fillets with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 5 minutes. Flip the salmon and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky. Once cooked, remove the salmon from the pan and set it aside on a plate.

In the same pan (do not clean it), melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add the 4 minced garlic cloves and 1/2 finely diced onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the aromatics are fragrant and softened.

While the aromatics are cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the 200g pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water before draining.

Add the zest of 1 lemon to the pan with the aromatics. Pour in 1/2 cup heavy cream, followed by 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and the reserved 1/4 cup pasta water. Squeeze in the juice of 1/2 lemon.

Stir the sauce continuously over medium heat until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce has slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the cooked pasta directly into the sauce in the pan. Flake the cooked salmon fillets into bite-sized pieces using a fork and add them to the pasta.

Gently toss everything together to coat the pasta and salmon evenly with the creamy lemon sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
