Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a loaf pan (approximately 22x12 cm) with parchment paper, ensuring it overhangs slightly on the sides for easy removal.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, lukewarm milk, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined.

Add the sugar, flour, and baking powder to the wet ingredients. Whisk for about 1 minute, or until the batter is smooth and lump-free.

Peel and thinly slice the apples. A mandoline slicer works best for achieving uniform, very thin slices.

Add the thinly sliced apples to the cake batter. Stir gently but thoroughly to ensure all apple slices are coated with the batter.

Pour the apple mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Gently spread it out and arrange the top layer of apple slices neatly.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before carefully lifting it out using the parchment paper. Allow it to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
