Preheat your oven to 400°F. Peel and dice the 2 large sweet potatoes into small, even-sized cubes. Place the diced sweet potatoes in a bowl.

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, salt to taste, and pepper to taste to the diced sweet potatoes. Toss thoroughly to ensure all pieces are evenly coated.

Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven at 400°F for 20 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

While the sweet potatoes are roasting, place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the 1 pound of ground turkey to the skillet. Break up the turkey with a spoon and cook until it is browned and cooked through.

Once the ground turkey is cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet.

Add 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, salt to taste, and pepper to taste to the cooked ground turkey. Stir well to incorporate the seasonings.

Stir in the 1 (15-ounce) can of black beans (rinsed and drained) with the seasoned ground turkey. Mix everything together.

Once the sweet potatoes are roasted, remove them from the oven. Transfer the roasted sweet potatoes to a baking dish.

Spread the ground turkey and black bean mixture evenly over the layer of sweet potatoes in the baking dish.

Generously sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the turkey and black bean mixture. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.

Remove the bake from the oven. Top with fresh cilantro, sliced avocado, and a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt, or any other preferred toppings. Serve hot.
