Cut the chuck roast into 1-inch cubes. In a large bowl, toss the cubed beef with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1 teaspoon of paprika until the beef is evenly coated.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the seasoned beef in batches until browned on all sides. This step is optional but highly recommended for enhanced flavor and texture. Transfer the seared beef to the slow cooker.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of beef broth, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 2-3 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 inch of grated fresh ginger. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender and easily shredded with a fork. (For this recipe, we'll assume a 4-hour cook time on high for calculation purposes).

About 30 minutes before serving, add the 2 packages of ramen noodles (discarding the flavor packets) to the slow cooker, gently pushing them down into the broth.

Continue to cook until the ramen noodles are tender, approximately 5-10 minutes.

Ladle the beef and ramen into bowls. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a soft-boiled egg, if desired.
