Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) or oven to 400°F (200°C). Line an air fryer basket or baking tray with parchment paper.

Take one piece of pounded chicken breast and fully coat it in the beaten egg wash, ensuring all surfaces are covered.

Transfer the egg-washed chicken to a bowl of breadcrumbs. Thoroughly coat the chicken on all sides until it is fully covered with breadcrumbs. Repeat for all chicken breasts.

Place the breaded chicken pieces onto the prepared parchment-lined air fryer basket or baking tray. Cook for 6-8 minutes in the air fryer, or 10-12 minutes in the oven, until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through if necessary.

Carefully remove the cooked chicken from the air fryer/oven. Using a knife, gently score the cooked chicken pieces, making shallow cuts across the top to help the sauce and cheese adhere.

Spoon a generous amount of marinara or pizza sauce (about 1/4 cup per chicken breast) over each cooked chicken piece, spreading it evenly.

Evenly distribute a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese (about 1/4 cup per chicken breast) over the sauce on each chicken piece.

Arrange several slices of pepperoni (about 8 slices per chicken breast) on top of the cheese on each chicken piece.

Return the chicken to the air fryer or oven. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the pepperoni is slightly crisped.

Remove the finished pepperoni pizza chicken parm from the air fryer/oven. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

Cut the finished chicken parm into strips or pieces for serving. Serve immediately with additional marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.
