Heat the oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and slightly crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked sausage from the pan and set aside on a plate, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.

Add the ground meat to the same pan. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook until it is fully browned and no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if desired.

While the ground meat is cooking, combine all the seasoning blend ingredients (onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, gumbo file, Old Bay seasoning, dried thyme, and white pepper) in a small bowl and mix well.

Add the sliced green bell pepper and sliced onion to the pan with the browned ground meat. Stir well and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.

Add the chopped cabbage to the pan. Stir to combine with the meat and other vegetables. The pan may seem full, but the cabbage will cook down.

Sprinkle the prepared seasoning blend evenly over the ingredients in the pan. Stir thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well coated with the seasonings.

Return the previously cooked sausage to the pan. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cabbage has softened to your desired tenderness and all ingredients are heated through. The vegetables will release enough liquid, so no additional broth is needed.

Serve the Dirty Cabbage hot as a hearty main dish.
