Combine the rinsed brown rice, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 35-40 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Brown rice typically takes longer to cook than white rice.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork. Stir in the chopped cilantro, butter, rinsed and drained black beans, diced jalapeño, and fresh lime juice until well combined.
Serve immediately.
