Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Take the chuck roast and generously season it on all sides with your favorite beef rub.

In a Dutch oven, sear the seasoned chuck roast on all sides until it is nicely browned. This step helps to develop a rich flavor crust.

Once seared, add 1 cup of beef broth to the Dutch oven with the chuck roast.

Cover the Dutch oven with its lid and bake in the preheated oven for 3 hours, or until the roast is fork-tender.

Carefully remove the tender roast from the Dutch oven and transfer it to a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, cut the roast into approximately 1-inch cubes.

While the roast cools slightly, prepare the burnt ends sauce. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup of beef broth, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

Add the cubed chuck roast to the bowl containing the sauce mixture. Toss the meat until all the cubes are evenly coated with the sauce.

Transfer the coated chuck roast cubes back into the Dutch oven.

Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize and create the signature "burnt ends" texture. The sauce should thicken and become sticky.

Remove from the oven and serve hot. Enjoy your Poor Man's Burnt Ends!
