Preheat your oven to 350°F. Ensure you have a glass baking dish ready for use.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the entire 15 1/4 ounce box of yellow cake mix, 2 large eggs, and 1/2 cup of melted butter. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until a uniform, thick batter forms.

Generously spray the bottom and sides of your glass baking dish with butter spray to prevent sticking.

Pour the cake base batter into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula (lightly sprayed with butter spray to prevent sticking) to flatten the batter evenly across the bottom of the dish.

Wash out the mixing bowl used for the cake base. Add 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, the remaining 2 large eggs, 8 ounces of room temperature cream cheese, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the clean bowl. Mix these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Carefully pour the cream cheese mixture directly over the flattened yellow cake batter in the baking dish. Do not mix it in; simply pour it on top and gently smooth it out with a spatula to create an even layer over the cake base.

Place the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before cutting it into individual pieces and serving. This allows the cake to set properly.
