In a large bowl, combine the plain yogurt (or sour cream), turmeric powder, red chili powder, Kashmiri chili powder (or paprika), and oil (or spice paste).

Whisk all the ingredients together thoroughly until a smooth paste forms. Add an additional 1/4 cup of plain yogurt if needed to create a thick, orange-brown marinade, and whisk again until well combined.

Add the 4 chicken drumsticks to the prepared marinade in the bowl. Mix the chicken drumsticks meticulously, ensuring each piece is fully coated with the marinade.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil or butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Carefully place the marinated chicken drumsticks into the hot pan.

Fry the chicken drumsticks for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

While the chicken is frying, prepare the garlic butter tadka. In a separate small bowl, combine the minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of oil (or melted butter), butter chunks, and chopped cilantro.

Mix the garlic, oil/melted butter, butter chunks, and cilantro together using a knife or spoon until well combined. This mixture forms the "tadka."

Once the chicken drumsticks are fried and appear cooked through, pour the entire prepared garlic-butter-cilantro mixture (tadka) directly over the chicken in the pan. Stir gently to coat the chicken.

Serve the delicious garlic butter chicken drumsticks immediately, accompanied by cooked rice and garnished with fresh orange or lime wedges.
