In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sour cream, the entire packet of ranch dressing and recipe mix seasoning, and the shredded white cheddar cheese.

On a cutting board, finely chop the uncooked bacon. Add the chopped bacon to the bowl with the other ingredients.

Using your hands, thoroughly mix all the ingredients in the bowl until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Divide the seasoned beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into individual patties, about 1/2-inch thick.

Preheat a flat-top grill or a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties.

Place a piece of parchment paper over each patty and use a burger press or a sturdy spatula to firmly press down and flatten the patties, creating a 'smash burger' style. Cook for 3-4 minutes until a deep brown crust forms.

Flip the patties. Immediately place one slice of American cheese on top of each cooking patty to melt. Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Remove the cooked Crack Burgers from the grill or skillet. Serve immediately on slices of bread to create sandwiches.
