Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

To the cooked pork, add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of sake, 2 tablespoons of mirin, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir well to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes until the liquid slightly reduces.

Add 1 tablespoon of doubanjiang, 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, and 1 tablespoon of grated garlic to the pork mixture. Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in 1 teaspoon of chili oil and 1 tablespoon of white sesame seeds. Cook for 1 minute, then remove the pork topping from the pan and set aside.

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and stir in 1/2 cup of unsweetened soy milk, 3 tablespoons of sesame paste, and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Whisk until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.

Add 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar to the soup and stir. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.

Gently add the block of silken tofu to the soup. Bring the soup to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes to heat the tofu through.

Ladle the hot Tofu Tantan Soup into serving bowls. Top each serving with a generous spoonful of the prepared pork topping. Garnish with chopped green onions and a drizzle of extra chili oil, if desired. Serve immediately.
