Prepare your steaming setup. If using a bamboo steamer, line it with parchment paper or large cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. If using a metal steamer basket, ensure it's clean and ready. Fill a large pot or wok with about 1 inch of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper. Place a few lemon slices and a sprig of fresh dill on top of each salmon fillet. Arrange the salmon fillets in a single layer in your steamer basket.

Place the asparagus spears around the salmon in the steamer basket. If using a multi-tiered steamer, you can place the asparagus in a separate basket above or below the salmon.

Once the water is boiling, carefully place the steamer basket(s) over the pot, ensuring the water does not touch the bottom of the basket. Cover tightly with a lid.

Steam for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender-crisp. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the salmon.

While the salmon and asparagus are steaming, prepare the Lemon-Dill Sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, fresh lemon juice, finely chopped fresh dill, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Carefully remove the steamer basket(s) from the pot. Transfer the steamed salmon and asparagus to serving plates.

Drizzle the Lemon-Dill Sauce generously over the salmon and asparagus. Serve immediately.
