In a pan, melt 100g of butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until the butter turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. This process is called browning the butter.

In a mixing bowl, add 50g of white sugar and 50g of brown sugar.

Pour the browned butter into the sugar mixture and mix well. Crack in 1 egg and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until all wet ingredients are thoroughly combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 100g of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.

Fold in 50g of chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow it to firm up.

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Scoop small, uniform portions of the chilled dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between them for spreading. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
