In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, vegan beef bouillon, water, 2 tablespoons oil, browning sauce (or dark soy sauce), liquid smoke (if using), nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, MSG (if using), and mushroom seasoning (if using).

Whisk all marinade ingredients together until well combined.

Crumble the block of super firm tofu directly into the bowl with the prepared marinade.

Mix the crumbled tofu thoroughly with the marinade until evenly coated.

To bake for a chewy and meaty texture: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the marinated and crumbled tofu mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the tofu is dried out and has a chewy texture.

After baking, transfer the tofu ground beef to a pan. Rehydrate it by adding a bit of water or broth to the pan, stirring until it reaches desired consistency.

Alternatively, for a quicker pan-fried version: Heat some oil in a pan. Add the crumbled tofu (without marinating first). Pan-fry for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until some browning occurs.

Then, add the prepared marinade/sauce to the pan with the pan-fried tofu. Stir to coat the tofu evenly with the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
