Chocolate 'Dirt' Parfaits with Gummy Worms
Ingredients
For the Cookie Crumbs
- 18 chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos, crushed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Pudding Layer
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix, 3.9 ounce size
- 2 cups cold milk, whole or 2%
- 1 container frozen whipped topping, 8 ounce size, thawed
For Assembly and Garnish
- 12 gummy worms, or more, as needed
- 2 tablespoons chocolate sprinkles, optional, for garnish

In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with the melted unsalted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes, or until thickened. Let stand for 5 minutes to set.

Gently fold in the thawed frozen whipped topping into the chocolate pudding mixture until well combined and lightened. Be careful not to overmix.

To assemble the parfaits, place about 1/4 cup of the buttered cookie crumbs into the bottom of each of four 8-ounce parfait glasses or clear cups. Top with about 1/2 cup of the chocolate pudding mixture.

Repeat the layers, adding another layer of cookie crumbs, followed by another layer of chocolate pudding mixture. You should have enough for two layers of each.
