Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package directions until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.

Once cooked, thoroughly drain the noodles using a colander.

Return the same hot pot to the stove over medium-low heat. Add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt completely.

Once the butter has melted, add the soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the pot. Stir well to combine and create the sauce.

Return the drained noodles to the pot with the sauce. Toss the noodles thoroughly until they are completely coated with the butter and soy sauce mixture. If the sauce seems too thick, add a tablespoon or two of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.

Transfer the coated noodles to individual serving bowls.

Garnish each serving with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving immediately.
