Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.

Place the peeled and quartered potatoes in a large pot. Cover with cold water and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until the potatoes are very tender, about 15-20 minutes. You should be able to easily pierce them with a fork.

Drain the cooked potatoes thoroughly. Return them to the empty pot and mash them until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps!

Add the melted butter, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, milk, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and the mixture forms a soft, cohesive dough.

Lightly flour a clean surface. Roll out the potato dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use dinosaur-shaped cookie cutters to cut out your potato puffs. Gather any scraps, re-roll, and cut out more shapes until all the dough is used.

Carefully place the dinosaur potato puffs onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the potato puffs are golden brown and slightly crispy around the edges. Serve warm and enjoy your prehistoric snack!
