Wash the cucumber thoroughly and thinly slice it. Gently wash the fresh mint leaves.

Place the mint leaves in a large pitcher and gently muddle them with a spoon or muddler to release their oils and aroma. Add the sliced cucumber to the pitcher.

Pour the cold filtered water into the pitcher. If using, add the optional thinly sliced lemon.

Stir the ingredients gently. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse. For a stronger flavor, infuse for up to 4 hours.

Once infused, you can strain out the solids for a clearer drink, or leave them in for presentation. Serve chilled over ice, if desired.
