In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well to coat the beef. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

While the beef is marinating, prepare the stir-fry sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the same skillet. Add the asparagus and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until tender-crisp. If using, add the red pepper flakes and stir for 30 seconds.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan with the asparagus. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the asparagus. Give the prepared stir-fry sauce a quick whisk and pour it over the beef and asparagus. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and asparagus, creating a beautiful sheen.

Serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
