Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring there is an overhang on all sides to easily lift the fudge later.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and unsalted butter. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the butter is completely melted and the peanut butter is softened and thinned. Stir halfway through microwaving if needed.

Remove the bowl from the microwave and whisk the mixture thoroughly until it is smooth and well combined.

Gradually add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter mixture, about 1 cup at a time, whisking continuously until the mixture becomes very thick and smooth. Ensure all the powdered sugar is fully incorporated.

Stir in the vanilla extract until it is fully incorporated into the fudge mixture.

Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared 8x8 inch dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the fudge is firm to the touch.

Once firm, use the parchment paper overhang to carefully lift the fudge out of the dish and place it on a cutting board. Cut the fudge into small squares, approximately 1-inch by 1-inch.

Just before serving, drizzle the fudge squares with dark chocolate sauce for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
