Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pan or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Pour in 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

Add 1/2 box of pastina to the boiling broth. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pastina is al dente (tender but still firm to the bite). This usually takes about 7-9 minutes, but check package directions for exact timing.

Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Squeeze the juice from 1/2 a lemon directly into the pan. Stir to combine.

Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir everything together one last time.

Serve immediately and enjoy your creamy lemon garlic pastina.
