Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.

Cut the crusts off each slice of white sandwich bread. Discard the crusts or save them for another use. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread.

In a medium-sized bowl, beat the room temperature cream cheese until it is smooth. Add the egg and 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar. Mix until all ingredients are fully combined and the mixture is smooth.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto each flattened slice of bread. Roll up each spread-covered bread slice tightly.

Cut each rolled-up bread slice in half or in thirds, depending on your desired size. Place the cut rolls seam side down in the prepared baking dish, arranging them in a single layer.

Generously brush the tops of the rolls with the 1/2 cup of melted butter.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and the 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Sprinkle this sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the butter-brushed rolls.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the sugar snails are golden in color and the cream cheese filling is set. Serve warm.
