In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 1/4 cup maida (all purpose flour), 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.

Whisk the dry ingredients together until well combined.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture: 1/2 cup milk and 1/4 cup oil.

Whisk the wet and dry ingredients thoroughly until a smooth batter forms.

Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the batter and whisk again.

Add about 1/4 cup of the dark chocolate chunks or chips to the batter and mix them in.

Grease a ramekin with oil or butter.

Pour approximately half of the batter into the greased ramekin.

Place the remaining 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chunks in the center of the batter in the ramekin.

Cover the chocolate chunks with the remaining batter.

Place the filled ramekin into the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 180°C for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly wobbly.

Once cooked, carefully remove the choco lava cake from the air fryer.

Garnish with flaky salt, if desired.

Serve warm and enjoy the molten chocolate center.
