Place 1 tablespoon of butter into a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the butter is fully melted.

Add 1 cup of mini marshmallows to the melting butter in the saucepan.

Stir the butter and marshmallows constantly until they are completely melted and combined into a smooth, gooey mixture. Ensure there are no lumps of marshmallow remaining.

Remove the saucepan from the heat once the marshmallow mixture is smooth.

Add 2 cups of your chosen cereal (such as Coco Puffs or Cinnamon Toast Crunch) to the melted marshmallow mixture in the saucepan.

Stir vigorously with a spatula or wooden spoon until the cereal is thoroughly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Work quickly before the mixture cools too much.

Transfer the cereal mixture immediately to a small square pan (approximately 8x8 inches) that has been lined with parchment paper. The parchment paper will prevent sticking and make removal easier.

Using a piece of parchment paper or a buttered spatula, press the cereal mixture down firmly and evenly into the pan. This helps to compact the treats and ensure they hold their shape.

Allow the cereal treats to set at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, or until firm. Once set, lift the treats out of the pan using the parchment paper.

Cut the treats into squares using a sharp knife and serve. Store any remaining treats in an airtight container at room temperature.
