Wash the 500 grams of baby potatoes thoroughly. Cut each baby potato in half.

Place the halved baby potatoes in a pot of boiling water. Boil them for 10-15 minutes, or until they are tender. Once tender, drain the water and set the potatoes aside.

Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the 6 cloves of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Then, add the 1/2 chopped onion and continue to sauté until it softens, about 3-5 minutes.

Add the boiled baby potatoes to the pan with the sautéed aromatics. Pour in the 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/2 cup of water. Stir in the 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Season with the 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.

Mix all the ingredients well to ensure the potatoes are evenly coated. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the pan. Let it simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and beautifully coats the potatoes.

Once cooked, garnish the Soy Braised Baby Potatoes with fresh green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
