Crack the egg directly into a microwave-safe mug. Add the granulated sugar and mix thoroughly with a fork until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is well combined.

Pour in 2 tablespoons of milk and the vegetable oil. Mix again until fully incorporated.

Add the all-purpose flour and mix until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

Stir in the cocoa powder until it is fully incorporated and the batter has a uniform dark brown color.

Finally, add the baking powder and gently mix it into the batter. Be careful not to overmix at this stage.

While the cake is cooking, prepare the frosting. Place the chopped chocolate in a separate small, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

Add 1 tablespoon of milk to the melted chocolate and mix until the frosting is smooth and glossy.

Once the mug cake is cooked, pour the prepared chocolate frosting evenly over the top of the warm cake.

Generously sprinkle chocolate sprinkles over the frosting for decoration. Serve immediately and enjoy directly from the mug.
