Combine the peeled almonds and milk in a blender or food processor. Blend until a smooth paste is formed. This may take a minute or two, scraping down the sides as needed.

In a microwave-safe bowl, add the ghee. Then, add the prepared almond paste, granulated sugar, and saffron strands to the bowl.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until well combined and the sugar is evenly distributed.

Microwave the mixture for 1 minute. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and mix the contents well, ensuring no part is sticking to the bottom or sides.

Return the bowl to the microwave and microwave for another 1 minute. Remove and mix well again.

Repeat the microwaving and mixing steps (1 minute each) three more times, for a total of 5 minutes of microwaving with mixing in between each minute. The halwa is ready when it thickens, comes together, and starts to leave the sides of the bowl.

Serve the warm Badam Halwa garnished with sliced almonds.
