Preheat your oven to 375°F. Prepare the cheese filling by combining the 1/2 cup Parmesan or Romano cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 2 cups ricotta cheese, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a medium bowl. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and set aside.

In a large pan over medium-high heat, brown the 1/2 pound ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease. Add the 3 cups of pasta sauce to the browned beef and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat.

Take the loaf of Italian or French bread. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut the top off the loaf lengthwise, about 1/2 inch from the top. Gently remove most of the soft bread from the inside of the loaf and the top piece, leaving a sturdy crust about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick around the edges and bottom. This creates a hollow space for the filling.

Begin layering the lasagna filling inside the hollowed bread. Start with a layer of the meat sauce, spreading it evenly on the bottom. Follow with a layer of the cooked lasagna noodles, trimming them to fit as needed. Then, add a layer of the prepared cheese filling. Repeat these layers until the bread loaf is full, ending with a layer of meat sauce if possible.

Carefully place the removed top piece of bread back onto the filled loaf, ensuring it covers the filling.

In a small bowl, combine the 1 stick of softened unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, and 3 cloves of minced garlic. Mix well to create the garlic butter topping.

Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the entire top and sides of the reassembled bread loaf. Sprinkle the top with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.

Place the stuffed garlic bread on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the filling is heated through and bubbly.

For an extra golden and bubbly top, carefully broil the stuffed garlic bread for 1 to 2 minutes after baking. Watch closely to prevent burning. Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
