Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add the cottage cheese to a food processor and blend until it is completely smooth and creamy. This may take 1-2 minutes.

Transfer the blended cottage cheese to a large mixing bowl.

Add the self-rising flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the cottage cheese.

Mix the ingredients with a fork until they are just combined and a shaggy dough begins to form.

Pour in the milk and the 1/4 cup of melted butter into the mixture.

Continue mixing with the fork until a cohesive dough forms. Do not overmix.

Lightly flour a clean work surface. Transfer the dough onto it and knead gently for 1 to 2 minutes until it comes together smoothly.

Roll out the dough to approximately 1 inch thick using a rolling pin or your hands.

Use a round biscuit cutter (about 2-3 inches in diameter) to cut out individual biscuits from the rolled dough. Reform scraps gently and cut additional biscuits until all dough is used.

Place the cut biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.

Brush the tops of the biscuits with additional melted butter, as needed, for extra flavor and browning.

Bake in the preheated oven at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and crispy, and the insides are fluffy. Serve warm.
