In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and caster sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add the large egg and vanilla extract to the creamed butter and sugar mixture, and mix well to combine.

Sift the plain flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt into the wet ingredients.

Fold in the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Chill the cookie dough for 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 160°C. Scoop the chilled dough into 12 balls and place them onto a baking tray, leaving enough space between each for spreading.

Bake the cookie balls in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

After the initial baking time, remove the tray from the oven. Carefully add the halved Milky Way Magic Stars on top of each cookie, gently pressing them into the semi-baked dough.

Return the cookies to the oven and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking tray before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy!
