In a small bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently to mix the ingredients. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast activates and becomes visibly foamy.

In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix them thoroughly.

Pour the activated yeast mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything by hand until a shaggy dough forms and all the flour is incorporated.

Transfer the shaggy dough to a lightly floured work surface. Knead the dough vigorously by hand until it becomes smooth and elastic, approximately 5-7 minutes.

Form the kneaded dough into a ball. Lightly grease a clean bowl with olive oil. Place the dough ball in the oiled bowl, turning it once to ensure it's coated with oil on all sides. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap to prevent drying. Let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, about 60-90 minutes.

Once the dough has doubled, gently punch it down to release the accumulated gases. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out into a large, thin rectangular sheet, about 1/4 inch thick. Using a pizza cutter or a knife, cut the dough sheet into long, narrow strips, approximately 1 inch wide and 6-8 inches long. Take each strip, stretch it slightly, and then twist or twirl it to create an elongated, spiral, or twisted shape.

Arrange the shaped dough pieces onto a tray lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not too crowded. Cover the tray loosely with plastic wrap. Allow the shaped dough to rest and rise again for a second proof, until visibly puffed, about 20-30 minutes.

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a deep pan or pot over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C). The oil should be hot enough for frying. Carefully place the risen dough pieces into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Fry the dough pieces, turning them occasionally with tongs or a slotted spoon, until they are uniformly puffed up and golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

Remove the fried dough pieces from the oil and place them on a wire rack or a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve the Easy Fried Dough immediately, optionally accompanied by warm soy milk or condensed milk.
