Add the peeled garlic cloves, 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to a small saucepan.

Cook the mixture over low heat for 15โ20 minutes. The garlic should become golden and completely tender; ensure it does not brown.

Transfer the cooked garlic and all the golden oil from the saucepan to a wide plate.

Place the remaining 2 tablespoons of cold unsalted butter in the center of the garlic on the plate.

Using a fork, mash all the ingredients together on the plate until the mixture becomes creamy.

Stir in the 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt flakes. Optionally, add a pinch of red chili flakes at this stage.

Transfer the finished garlic butter to a bowl and serve immediately with bread. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
