Pour olive oil into a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the jarred minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add the pureed onion to the pot. Stir the mixture well and cook until it begins to separate slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

Carefully pour in the Tuttorosso tomato puree. Then, add the water, using the empty tomato puree can to measure just under one full can (approximately 1 cup). Stir everything together thoroughly.

Increase heat to bring the sauce to a boil. Once boiling, stir in the dried basil and dried oregano.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes.

Uncover the pot and add the Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda to the simmering sauce. It will fizz as it reacts with the acidity. Stir until the fizzing subsides, which helps to neutralize the pH, resulting in a brighter red and smoother sauce.

Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Your Viral Italian Pasta Sauce is now ready to serve with your favorite pasta, or use as a base for lasagna or other Italian dishes. No cheese is added directly to the sauce.
