Preheat a panini press or a large skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, you will cook the pitas in batches.

Take two pieces of pita bread. Evenly spread 1/4 of the ground beef over one pita bread, covering it completely to the edges. Place the second pita bread directly on top of the ground beef layer, forming a pita sandwich.

Carefully place the assembled pita sandwich into the preheated panini press. Cook until the pita is golden brown and crispy on both sides, and the ground beef is fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. If using a skillet, cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing down with a spatula to ensure even contact.

While the first pita is cooking, repeat step 2 with the remaining pita bread and ground beef to prepare the next sandwiches.

Once cooked, remove the crispy pita from the grill and place it on a piece of parchment paper. Immediately top with 1 cup of shredded lettuce, 2 tablespoons of diced onions, and 2 tablespoons of sliced pickles.

Drizzle 1/4 cup of Big Mac inspired sauce generously over the toppings. Fold the pita in half, bringing one side over the other to enclose the fillings.

Wrap the folded pita in white paper for easy handling. For an extra touch, spoon additional Big Mac inspired sauce into the opening of the wrapped pita before serving.

Repeat steps 5-7 for the remaining cooked pita sandwiches. Serve immediately.
