Measure the Chex cereal into a large, heat-safe bowl and set aside.

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and completely melted. Be careful not to scorch the chocolate.

Stir the peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate mixture until well combined.

Pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal. Gently fold and stir with a rubber spatula until the cereal is evenly coated.

Divide the coated cereal into two large (2-gallon) resealable plastic bags. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar to each bag. Seal the bags and shake vigorously until the cereal is thoroughly coated with the powdered sugar.

Pour the coated cereal from both bags into a large bowl. Add the crushed peppermint candies and gently toss to distribute them evenly throughout the muddy buddies.

Spread the Peppermint Bark Muddy Buddies in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow them to cool and set for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate for 15 minutes for faster setting.

Once set, break apart any clumps and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
