Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Do NOT drain the fat.

Push the browned beef to the sides of the pot. Add the tomato paste to the center and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then, add the diced onions and bell peppers to the center and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring with the tomato paste.

Add the all-purpose flour to the pot and mix thoroughly with the beef and vegetables until no dry flour remains. Then, stir in the Salt-Free Tony’s (or Cajun/Creole blend), smoked paprika, salt, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Finally, add the minced garlic and bring the mixture to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the chopped cabbage to the pot. If the pot is very full, add it in batches, allowing it to wilt slightly before adding more. Stir until all the cabbage is fully coated in the gravy. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to medium-low.

Simmer the covered cabbage mixture for 10-15 minutes, or until the cabbage reaches your preferred texture (tender-crisp to very tender). Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

If the sauce is too runny for your liking, remove the lid and cook uncovered for a few additional minutes, stirring, until it thickens to your desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasonings, adding more salt, black pepper, or red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot with rice, or enjoy it by itself.
